Lavender Walk

The weathered street lamp was rough to the fingers, with long streaks of bark protruding from warning signs. The lamp shone down, catching you in its spotlight like a prison breaker. The clear, lavender sky made the telephone wires pop as they hung from house to house, interconnecting the lives of the homes that they sprung to, leaping off each pole like a frog hops to each lilypad.
