Mad Men

When the world falls asleep, worries depart,

the streetlights dazzle, the drones fizzle out.

The debonair take flight, the real fun starts,

laughter echoes and drinks clink throughout.

They say there’s a man, sharper than a knife,

drinks in one hand, a girl in the other.

A man of mystique, charisma and life,

his reputation begs for it to be discovered.

When daylight breaks it becomes very clear,

the man of mystique has since disappeared.

He reeks of booze and his mind is unclear,

the emptiness he fears has reappeared.

The morning reveals the evening’s mistakes,

monotony sends the man into shakes.
